Business Energy Rebate Online Application

Business energy rebates support businesses, non-profits and institutional organizations, as well as industrial/agricultural facilities in choosing high-efficiency products.

Choosing efficient products will improve your bottom line by reducing your energy consumption and helping you manage your businesses operating costs. Investing in energy efficiency can improve the in-store experiences, deliver higher quality lighting for product displays, improve productivity and reduce your environmental impact.

How to apply:

  1. Visit your local wholesaler or work with your contractor to identify which upgrades you plan to make. All heat pump supply and installations must be completed by a Network of Excellence contractor to be eligible for a rebate.
  2. Contact efficiencyPEI for pre-approval before you begin your installation if your rebate may be over $5,000. Otherwise, install your equipment before you apply.
  3. Collect a detailed sales receipt outlining where the products were purchased and showing the model numbers for eligible products.
  4. Click the blue button below to apply for the rebate. Or fill out the application form and drop off or mail your registration form and paid/dated receipt(s) to efficiencyPEI or any Access PEI.
Additional rebates may be available for larger upgrades through Community Energy Solutions.

Businesses and farm operations may also be eligible for solar incentives.

Rebates are also available for electric vehicle chargers

Up to 100% funding is available for eligible community centres to install heat pumps through the Community Revitalization Program.

Who is eligible?

Any Island business, community group, non-profit and institutional organization, or industrial/agricultural facility can apply for rebates on approved high-efficiency products and equipment in a non-residential building.

Rebates are also available for equipment installed in tourism accommodations and short-term rental accommodations (defined as rented for less than one year at a time).

What do I need to complete the online application?

You will be asked to provide:

  • Full contact information
  • Business GST/HST number
  • Installation address
  • Uploaded documents including:
    • Copies of sales receipts, paid, dated, and outlining purchase location and model numbers for each eligible product (efficiencyPEI reserves the right to verify sales transactions)
