License a Collector in PEI
Any collection agency operating in Prince Edward Island must ensure each collector the agency employs is registered to collect in the province. The PEI collector’s license must be renewed every two years and cannot be transferred to another agency.

What do I need to apply online?
Each application requires the following information:
- Collection agency contact information and license number
- Detailed information about each collector you are licensing such as:
- Name including any aliases
- Previous collection agency experience (include agency name)
- Any criminal convictions
- Previous licensing issues, i.e. license refused
- Payment to be completed by credit card
What is the fee for a collector’s license?
The non-refundable fee is $50.00 per license.
How long will it take me to complete this application?
Depending on the number of collectors you are licensing, the form can be completed in less than 25 minutes. Each form can be used to register up to five collectors.
How long will it take to process this request?
Please allow for 10 business days to complete review and issuance of a license. Any errors or missing information will cause delays to processing your application.
Licenses will be emailed in PDF format to the email address provided on the webform. Please print the license and keep as collection agency records.
How do I transfer to a new collection agency?
A collector who moves from one agency to another is required to apply for a new license.
