Pan-Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP)
The Pan-Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP) was started in 2007 by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC). PCAP is a test given to Grade 8 students in Canada every three years. It measures student performance in reading, math, and science, and provides valuable information on student achievement on the national level. Making comparisons of results is complex, but these tests do help determine whether students across Canada reach similar levels of performance at about the same time in their schooling.
