Licensure for Physicians

Physicians must obtain licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island.

If you are already licensed in Canada, you also need to be licensed in the province of Prince Edward Island. Individual provinces are responsible for issuing their own license to practice.

Atlantic Registry

Starting May 1, 2023, physicians whose primary practice is in Atlantic Canada (and hold a general registration in either PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador) may be eligible to obtain registration to practice in all four Atlantic Canadian provinces via the Atlantic Registry. For more information or to opt-in to the Atlantic Registry, contact the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island today!
