Margaret Stewart Ellis Home is a 40-bed long-term care facility located in O'Leary, Prince Edward Island.

The beautiful courtyards designed for resident safety offer gardens, trees and green space for residents and family to enjoy.

What is the admission process?

You or your loved one’s individual care needs will be evaluated through a standard health assessment.

Generally, there are two types of service:

1. Short-term – for respite, to provide short-term relief to caregivers; or restorative, to provide the care required so the individual can return to their home and community.
2. Long-term – for permanent care, however, individuals can be discharged if their condition improves and they so desire.

Services provided at Margaret Stewart Ellis Home include:

What activities are offered?

Margaret Stewart Ellis Home offers coordinated activities to meet your physical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs. These can involve both individual and group activities. Some examples of activities provided include: exercise classes, seasonal events, birthday parties, discussion groups, sing-a-longs, foot spa day, van rides, etc.

Religious services are offered every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the dining room and are inter-denominational. Mass is held the last Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. Rosary and communion is offered every Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the sunroom.

Can I make a donation to Margaret Stewart Ellis Home?

The Margaret Stewart Ellis Home gratefully accepts donations. These contributions are used to purchase materials and equipment that will enhance the residents’ quality of life that are not available through other sources of funding.
