Livestock Insurance
Livestock Insurance is available to dairy, beef and bee producers in Prince Edward Island. Coverage is available for
- Dairy cattle mortality due to specified perils (loss of individual cows (both milking and dry cows) or heifers);
- Beef cattle mortality due to specified perils (beef cow or heifer); and
- Overwinter bee mortality.
Livestock Perils
The P.E.I.AIC Livestock Insurance Agreement covers reportable diseases that are listed in the Health of Animals Act (Canada), pasteurella pneumonia (shipping fever), infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (respiratory form), and bovine leukosis virus (BLV).
The Livestock AgriInsurance Agreement also includes coverage for overwinter bee mortality. The designated perils are adverse weather, and diseases and pests identified in the P.E.I.AIC Livestock Insurance Agreement.

Coverage Levels
