Health Care Services Added to Access PEI

Island residents can get help applying for a PEI health card and other health related services at all Access PEI locations across the province. This included applying for PEI health cards, registering for the patient registry and signing up to receive virtual care access.

Same day approval is available for some applicants. If you are applying for a new health card and qualify in the four categories below, you can book a personalized appointment at Access PEI here or by calling Contact PEI at 1-833-734-1873.

This service is available to Island residents as follows:

• Canadian citizen moving from another Canadian province
• Returning PEI resident moving from another Canadian province, with a change in last name.
• Canadian citizen returning from out of country
• Permanent resident moving from another Canadian province, where health coverage is still in effect.

If you are applying for health coverage and have arrived on PEI with a study permit, or a work permit – you are not eligible for same day approval appointments at Access PEI. Please visit the reception desks at any Access PEI office with your work/study permits and employment/enrolment letters (no appointment necessary).
