Paramedic License Plate

Certified paramedics in Prince Edward Island now have the option to proudly display their chosen profession on a specialized license plate for their personal vehicle.

This unique member-based license plate, developed in partnership with the Paramedic Association of PEI, is a way to acknowledge and thank paramedics for dedicating their careers to helping Islanders in need.

The plate is available in English and French and features a red maple leaf and the Star of Life, a symbol commonly used to identify emergency medical services and the Paramedic Association of Canada.  

How do I obtain a Paramedic license plate?

Certified paramedics may apply for a specialized license plate at any Access PEI location

You must present a valid Emergency Medical Technician (Paramedic) License or identification card issued by the College of Paramedicine of Prince Edward Island, registration for the vehicle and proof of valid inspection and insurance.

What types of license plates can I apply for?

Paramedic license plates will only be issued to certified paramedics for use on personal passenger vehicles with a maximum Gross Vehicle Weight of 4499 kg. These specialty license plates are not intended for use on emergency vehicles or to report to a scene.

What is the registration fee for a Paramedic license plate?

Certified paramedics in Prince Edward Island may apply to replace their current regular license plate with a Paramedic plate at any time by returning your current plate to any Access PEI office and paying a $5 fee. You do not have to wait until your current plate expires. Regular fees apply for future registration renewals.
