New video celebrates Prince Edward Island seafood
Seafood distributors and exporters can now use a new video to help in their promotion of Prince Edward Island fisheries and aquaculture products.
The video, entitled “Not Humble,” was developed by the departments of Fisheries and Communities and Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture. It was produced by Furrow Content, a Prince Edward Island based studio.
“The seafood video campaign celebrates our fishing and aquaculture industries,” said Jamie Fox, Minister of Fisheries and Communities. “It tells the story of the men and women who have made the industry what it is today. Together with a website, the video will promote the story of Prince Edward Island seafood to the world.”
The video was launched at City Cinema in Charlottetown on Wednesday evening. The launch was attended by fishers, aquaculturalists, processors and members of industry organizations.
Prince Edward Island seafood is exported to markets around the world. Together with other food products, they account for more than 50 per cent of exports to international markets. The seafood industry was valued at approximately $600 million in 2018.
