Apply for Building Acceleration Grant
Development projects requiring new or upgraded roadway access may be eligible for provincial funding for roadway preparation (excluding paving). The Building Acceleration Grant will provide up to $25,000 per eligible project (Maximum 50% of the total development cost).
Is my project eligible for funding?
Projects must meet the following criteria:
- Applicant is the property owner;
- Property is not connected to centralized or municipal water and sewer;
- Roadway access to the property does not exist or needs to be upgraded (paving is not included);
- Construction on the project has not started;
- The property must have been owned by the applicant for at least one year prior to application; and
- The program will only be available for developments for year round residency.
What do I need to apply for the Building Acceleration Grant?
You will be asked to provide the following information:
- Name(s) of property owners;
- Name(s) of any partners or shareholders;
- Property details including civic address and property ID number (PID);
You will also need to provide the following documents:
- Development permit;
- Approved survey or subdivision plan;
- List of the estimated costs; and
- Road approval;
What criteria are used to assess applications?
The Department of Housing, Land and Communities will accept applications until the allocated budget has been committed, or March 31, 2025, whichever comes first. The budget will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis and only complete applications will be eligible for processing.
Priority for funding assistance will be based on how quickly the project can start adding infrastructure.
