What is considered to be a petroleum storage tank system?
This includes an:
- underground petroleum storage tank, or
- above ground petroleum storage tank at a retail or bulk outlet
When do I need a Petroleum Storage Tank Contractor's License?
Any person who removes a petroleum storage tank or storage tank system must hold a valid Level I Petroleum Storage Tank Contractor's License.
Any person who installs or alters a petroleum storage tank or storage stank system must hold a valid Level II Petroleum Storage Tank Contractor's License. A Level II license holder can also remove a storage tank or storage tank system.

What is the fee?
$50 is the fee to apply for a Level I Petroleum Storage Tank Contractor's License. There is no HST.
$100 is the fee to apply for a Level II Petroleum Storage Tank Contractor's License. There is no HST.
You can pay using the online form below or if making an application by mail or in-person, you must make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance.
How long will it take to obtain a Petroleum Storage Tank Contractor's License?
You should allow two to four weeks to process your request.
