Insurance Company Licensing
Every insurer carrying on business in the Prince Edward Island must obtain from the Superintendent of Insurance and hold a license under the Insurance Act. It is an offence for an insurer to carrying on business in Prince Edward Island without having obtained a license.

License Term
An Insurance Company License is valid for one year.
License Fee
New license and renewal fee is $900 payable by cheque to the PEI Minister of Finance or by credit card by contacting Registry and Licensing Services at 902-368-4550 Ext 2

Renewals
Insurance Companies renew annually on December 31st. Renewal letters are sent by mail at the beginning of December.
The renewal fee is $900 and is payable by cheque or by credit card. If paying by credit card, you will need to complete the Request to Pay Over the Phone form, which authorizes us to charge your credit card. Please send the form to licensing@gov.pe.ca and we will call you to complete the payment.
Change of Chief Agent in PEI
To change the Chief Agent in PEI, please email to licensing@gov.pe.ca the following documents:
