Hillsborough Bridge and Riverside Drive intersection improvements nearing completion

Upgrades to the Hillsborough Bridge and Riverside Drive intersection in Charlottetown are nearing the final stages, with paving expected to finish within the next three days.

During the busiest travel times, all lanes on the bridge will remain open travelling from Stratford to Charlottetown between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and from Charlottetown to Stratford between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Motorists can expect additional delays outside of these hours.

Flaggers are in the area, and motorists are reminded to obey flaggers’ directions, traffic signs, and drive the temporary speed limit of 50 km per hour on the bridge.

Final landscaping will be completed next week, wrapping up the project.

The Hillsborough Bridge/Riverside Drive intersection improvements include adding more lanes and road widening. This will reduce travel time and congestion and increase safety for the next 10 years or more.
