Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)
The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) (link is external) was started in 2000 by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) (link is external). PISA is a test given to 15-year-olds every three years. It measures student performance in reading, math, and science, and provides valuable information on student achievement at the international level. PISA tests students on their ability to use their knowledge and skills to meet real-life challenges, and is not tied to any country’s education curriculum. For more information, see PISA 2015 Results, Canada (link is external).
