Caring Dads Program

Caring Dads is a program designed to help fathers and male caregivers improve their relationships with their children and the children's mothers.

Who is eligible?

Caring Dads is for fathers who have engaged in, or are at high risk of engaging in, domestic violence within their families. Domestic violence ranges from children being exposed to ongoing hostile conflicts between their parents, to children being physically and/or emotionally abused.

How does the program work?

Caring Dads is a group session held once a week for 14 weeks that helps develop trust, motivation, awareness, and child-centered parenting practises.

Where can I access the program?

This program is currently being offered through Family Ties, in collaboration with PEI Family Violence Prevention Services. It is offered throughout the year, depending on demand.

What is the cost of the program?

There is no cost for the program.

How do I sign up?

Fathers and male caregivers can self-refer to the program. Referrals can also be made through service providers for families, such as Child Protection Services, Corrections, Counsellors, and more.
