Shaping the Future for Seniors: A New Seniors Action Plan

The Provincial Government is in the process of developing the next Five-year Seniors Action Plan.

The action plan will be developed in partnership with the PEI Seniors’ Secretariat. It will replace the Promoting Wellness, Preserving Health Action Plan

Public Engagement

Public engagement sessions for the new Five-year Seniors Action Plan took place in late October 2024 in Summerside, Charlottetown, Montague, Abram-Village, and virtually.

Members of the public were also invited to complete an online survey, and/or provide  written, emailed, and phone-in feedback as part of the engagement process.

Near seniors (55 – 64 years), seniors (65+), their families, caregivers, and others were  invited to  provide input on a variety of topics, such as healthcare, cost of living, financial security, transportation, housing, social isolation and loneliness, food security, community involvement, and Government programs.

These processes concluded on December 2, 2024, and the feedback gathered is now being analyzed.  We thank all participants for their time and contributions.

How will my feedback be used?

All feedback will be considered in the development of the Five-year Seniors Action Plan. Any submitted information will be de-identified to ensure that all participants can remain anonymous.

When can I expect the new Action Plan?

The new Five-year Seniors Action Plan is scheduled to be released publicly in Fall 2025.
