Licensed Driver Training Schools
The training schools listed in Tables A and B are provincially licensed to operate in Prince Edward Island as private training schools under the Private Training Schools Act and Private Training Schools Act Regulations. Issuing permits in respect of operating a driver training school as well as issuing a license to those offering instruction in the operation of a motor vehicle, as well as classroom and behind-the-wheel training, is authorized under the Highway Traffic Act Driving Schools Regulations.
Schools listed in Table A are authorized to deliver the Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) Program. Some of these driving schools have been certified to deliver other driver improvement programs such as the Licensed Driver Education Course and the Defensive Drivers Course. Schools listed in Table B offer various training programs for commercial truck drivers. Courses provided may include Commercial Tractor Trailer Class 1A (basic 6-week course), Commercial Tractor Trailer Class 1A (advanced 12-week course), Straight Truck Class 3A, Heavy Equipment Operator, etc. Please contact the school directly for more information.
