Eligible Islanders reminded to reapply to Insulin Pump Program and Glucose Sensor Program
Islanders who are currently enrolled in the P.E.I Insulin Pump Program and P.E.I. Glucose Sensor Program are encouraged to reapply as soon as possible to ensure their benefits continue.
June 30, 2023 is the deadline to reapply for both programs.
Application processing may take 3-4 weeks depending on volume. Once a renewal application is approved, benefits will continue until June 30th the following year.
Currently 49 young Islanders under the age of 25 access financial support through Insulin Pump Program and 855 applicants have been approved for the Glucose Sensor Program since it launched in June 2022.
You are eligible to renew your coverage for the Insulin Pump Program & Glucose Sensor Program if you:
- have received benefits through the Glucose Sensor Program or Insulin Pump Program in the past 12 months,
- are a permanent resident of PEI,
- have a valid PEI Health Card,
- have filed your most recent income tax return in PEI,
- are under 25 years of age (Insulin Pump Program only).
You can reapply in one of the following ways:
1. Complete the online form Insulin Pump Program and Glucose Sensor Program Renewal Form to renew benefits
2. Download, complete, and submit the appropriate printable form:
- Glucose Sensor Program Renewal Form to renew benefits for the Glucose Sensor Program only
- Insulin Pump Program and Glucose Sensor Program Renewal Form to renew benefits for the Insulin Pump Program only or both the Insulin Pump and Glucose Sensor Program.
3. Obtain a paper form (for either program) at any Health PEI Diabetes Program location, complete and submit it by either mail or email.
