Provincial investment helping rural communities

A provincial government investment of more than $1.3 million is helping 30 community organizations this year to better serve their residents and enhance rural life.

Through the Rural Growth Initiative, community organizations can apply for funding to support projects that strengthen rural community life in PEI, such as renovations to buildings, community infrastructure improvements and energy efficiency updates.

“Rural communities are the heart of Prince Edward Island. We are so pleased to support these organizations with their projects to improve and nourish rural life. The Rural Growth Initiative has a strong track record of great success, and we look forward to its continued impact in the future.”

- Fisheries, Tourism, Sport and Culture Minister Zack Bell

Since establishing the Rural Growth Initiative in 2018, the provincial government has provided more than $32 million to strengthen rural life on Prince Edward Island.
