Public library patrons have free access to SaltWire online news content

The PEI Public Library Service has partnered with SaltWire Network to give library patrons free access to SaltWire's online news content at all 25 library locations.

Visitors to any PEI Public Library branch can enjoy free access to the diverse range of local news articles, features, and multimedia content available on saltwire.com. Whether it's staying informed about local events, exploring regional news, or reading up on lifestyle, sports or entertainment pieces, patrons can conveniently access SaltWire's offerings while visiting their local library.

"Libraries play a vital role in connecting communities to information. This partnership with SaltWire aligns with our commitment to providing accessible resources and meeting the evolving needs of Islanders. We are pleased to offer this additional benefit to library patrons across Prince Edward Island."

- Education and Early Years Minister Natalie Jameson

"We are delighted to partner with the PEI Public Library Service to extend the reach of our content to library patrons," said SaltWire Senior Director, Membership, Leo Gosse. "This collaboration reflects our shared goal of serving communities and providing access to reliable news and information."

Saltwire has 14 daily and weekly newspapers in Atlantic Canada, including PEI’s only daily newspaper The Guardian (Charlottetown), as well as The Journal-Pioneer (Summerside).

To access SaltWire content at any PEI Public Library branch, patrons can simply visit saltwire.com using library computers or personal devices connected to the library's Wi-Fi network.
