Anyone who was at these locations during these times who is fully vaccinated should monitor for symptoms for 14 days from the date of exposure and if any symptoms develop, they should visit a drop-in testing clinic.

A further reminder that anyone who was at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia from Friday, December 3 to Monday, December 6 should visit a drop-in testing clinic to be tested and isolate until a negative test result is received.

Demand continues to be high at all Health PEI testing clinics. Those who are identified as close contacts and those with symptoms are priorities for testing, as well as unvaccinated individuals who have been at public exposure sites at the specified times. Those who do not have symptoms of COVID-19, those who were at exposure sites and are fully vaccinated, and those who are not identified as close contacts do not require testing.

Anyone who returns to PEI from travel is reminded to be tested on day four after arrival. Any resident or visitor to the province should be tested if they develop any symptoms of COVID-19, even if they are mild.

There are also new flight exposure notifications:

  • Flare flight 8309 from Toronto to Charlottetown on Friday, December 10

As always, all Islanders are urged to get tested if they experience any symptoms of COVID-19, even after a previous negative test, and to self-isolate until the results come back. Islanders are also encouraged to download the free national COVID Alert app, which will let them know if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Anyone age 12 and over can receive their COVID-19 vaccination at one of the Health PEI clinics and those age 18 years or older can visit one of the 28 partner pharmacies across the province.  Island children between the ages of five and 11 years can now receive their COVID-19 vaccination at Health PEI clinics.
