Practical Test for a Pressure Welder/Brazer License

When do I need to complete a Practical Test for a Pressure Welder/Brazer License?

Anyone who performs welding or brazing on a boiler or pressure vessel, or on pressure piping systems, must successfully complete a practical test for a Pressure Welder/Brazer License. 

Are there special requirements I must meet before I attempt the practical testing?

Yes.  You must hold a Red Seal Certificate (journeyman) in welding OR provide proof that you hold an, or held, a pressure welding certificate issued by a Canadian jurisdiction.

You must also be working under the supervision of a company that holds a valid PEI Mechanical Contractor's License.

How do I apply to complete my practical testing?

What is the fee for the practical testing?

The cost is $100.00 per hour of testing.  Testing times will vary with the individual.  There is no HST.

Make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance.

For how long is my practical testing valid?

Your testing is valid for a period of one year from the date of your testing.

How long will it take to arrange and complete my practical testing?

Please allow 1 week to arrange and complete testing.
