The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP) is one way to obtain government records. You may wish to try other informal means to obtain information before you make a request using the legislation. If you choose to make your request informally it is recommended that you contact the office responsible for the records you are seeking.
If you wish to make a formal request to access records using the FOIPP Act, the request must be made in writing or by using an Access Request Form. Make sure to include details about the records you are seeking. It will help us to search for records of interest to you.
There is a $5 initial fee to request general records under the FOIPP Act. You will be notified of any additional fees to locate, retrieve, prepare, handle and photocopy records.
