Courts of Prince Edward Island

The Prince Edward Island Court of Appeal hears appeals from the Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island, Provincial Court and various administrative tribunals. The Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island is the superior trial court for the province, hearing civil (including family) and criminal matters, appeals from administrative tribunals and some appeals from the Provincial Court. Justices of this court also have jurisdiction over probate and administration of estates matters. Supreme Court of Prince Edward Island 

The Provincial Court of Prince Edward Island hears most criminal matters, offences under other federal legislation as well as offences under Provincial legislation, including the Highway Traffic Act.
