Turning Point Program
The Turning Point Program is an intimate partner violence (IPV) intervention/counselling program primarily for men involved in the criminal justice system.
Is there a fee for this program?
There is no fee.
What is included in the program?
Through weekly sessions, program components covered:
- what is abuse
- various forms of abuse
- power imbalances
- patterns of partner violence
- managing intense emotions
- impact of violence on children and female partners
- violence and substance use
- values and attitudes
- respectful communication
- problem solving
- self care
- managing stress and developing an interpersonal/self solution plan
What is the referral process?
Self-referrals and those from community agencies are accepted.
Clients are assessed prior to program entry to determine program readiness and compatibility. Turning Point is offered at various times and locations throughout the year.
Please note, men who have charges before the court relating to Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) are assessed after the court process is completed
