AgriInsurance Payment Details
Clients can have cheques delivered or receipts received at district offices. Please phone your insurance officer or head office to make arrangements. Head office: 902 836-0435.
Clients are reminded that payments can be made via e-transfer or through their online banking.
Requirements for Insurance
In order for an application for insurance to be accepted, all premiums and interest owing from any previous year must be paid in full. The application must include a 15% deposit based on estimated premiums. Premiums will be adjusted based on final coverage.
Early Payment Discount
Production Insurance, Forage Insurance, and Livestock Insurance are all eligible for early payment discounts. The early payment discount is set annually. It generally includes a discount for paying premiums above the required deposit amount, based on the application, by May 31st, and a lesser discount for paying premiums owing based on the application by June 30th.
For the 2023 program year:
- 4% Early Payment Discount on premiums paid above the required deposit by May 31st, 2023.
- 2% Early Payment Discount on premiums paid above the required deposit based on application by June 30th, 2023.
Payment Methods
Clients looking to make a payment can do so in person, online or by mail.
In Person
Cheques can be dropped off at the Kensington office during office hours or in the drop box located on the side of the building by the main entrance, or at any Access PEI location. Payments can also be accepted by your Insurance Officer.
Online
Payments that are $25,000 or under can be made through E-transfer to AICInsurance@gov.pe.ca. E-transfers must include your 5-digit AgriInsurance Client ID number in the transfer message so that the account can be identified.
Payments can also be made on your online bank account through Online Bill Payments. The P.E.I. Agricultural Insurance Corporation can be added as a payee on your online banking. If you have any questions you can call the office at 902-836-0439. Please use your Client ID number as the account number.
Cheques can be mailed to the Kensington office. Please include your 5-digit AgriInsurance client ID number on the cheque for easy identification. Payment will be applied based on the date the cheque is received by the Corporation unless it is postmarked by Canada Post.

General Information
Interest policy: Interest is added to account balances at the rate of 1% per month based on the following dates:
- Production Insurance Programs - August 1
- Storage Program - October 1
Outstanding accounts: Premiums, administrative fees and all other amounts owed to P.E.I.AIC are due and payable upon billing. Outstanding amounts owed to P.E.I.AIC will be deducted from indemnities payable to the client. Premiums from prior years must be paid in full to be eligible to obtain insurance in the current year.
Indemnity Payments: All premiums and/or fees owing to P.E.I.AIC will be deducted from any indemnity payments.
