Department offers career development opportunity for recent grads

Recent university graduates have an  opportunity to develop their careers as a junior policy analyst with the provincial government.

For the first time, the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries is offering one successful applicant a year-long, temporary work term that will allow them to impact the province’s agriculture, aquaculture and fisheries policies. The  innovative policy development and mentorship program is open to graduates within the last 24 months who meet the other qualifications. To apply, visit www.gov.pe.ca/jobs

“There is a growing need in government to strengthen its policy capacity because of the complexity of issues facing farmers and fishers,” Minister Robert Henderson said. “This program will develop the next generation of policy leaders by attracting people with fresh ideas who are interested in pursuing a career in the public service.”

The yearly program focuses on learning and development opportunities that allow participants to expand their policy research, analysis and communications skills.
