Pesticide Application Business Licence

Companies that wish to apply a commercial class pesticide to client properties must have a pesticide application business licence. Pesticide application business licences are specific to the type of pesticides your business uses. They are available for the following categories:
- Class A - Agricultural
- Class B - Mosquito and Biting Fly Control
- Class C-1 - Structural
- Class C-2 - Structural Fumigation
- Class D - Seed/Seed Piece Treatment
- Class E - Landscape
- Class F-1 - Forestry Herbicides
- Class F-2 - Reforestation
- Class G - Greenhouse
- Class H - Soil Fumigation
- Class I - Other
What are the requirements?
To obtain a pesticide application business licence, your business must:
- have an insurance policy with coverage of at least $500,000 for pollution liability, and at least $1,000,000 for general public liability;
- own or have access to a pesticide storage facility;
- employ at least one person with a pesticide applicator certificate;
- submit a completed Pesticide Application Business Licence Form
What are the fees?
$200 per year. There is no HST.
Payments may be made by cash, cheque or credit card. Make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance.
When does a pesticide application business license expire?
A Pesticide Application Business Licence expires on December 31 of the year it was issued.
