Student Financial Services Timetable for Loans, Grants, & Bursaries
July 19 Deadline for Student Loan applications to guarantee loan & grant payment in September. (Payments issued
5-10 days following confirmation of enrollment by your post-secondary institution after your classes begin.)
July 20 Student Loan applications received after this date are processed in 4-6 weeks.
July 31 Deadline for Community Service Bursary volunteer hour submissions.
Aug. 1 Start of new academic year.
September Student Loan (Federal) payments begin – full payment.
Canada Study Grant(s) payments begin – 1st half payment.
Canada Study Disability Grant payments begin – full payment.
Sept. 15 Submit Banking Information form for Student Loan (Part B**) funding.
October Island Advantage Bursary sent to schools – 1st half payment.
(1st half payment for late applicants will be sent monthly after this date)
November Community Service Bursary sent to schools.
Nov. 15 Deadline for Student Loan applications for fall semester.
January Student Loan (Provincial) payments begin – full payment.
Canada Study Grant(s) payments – 2nd half payment
George Coles Bursary sent to UPEI – full payment.
February George Coles Bursary sent to Holland College and Collège de L’Île – full payment.
Island Advantage Bursary sent to schools – 2nd half payment – for fall students.
Island Advantage Bursary sent to schools – full payment – for winter students.
(payment for late applicants will be sent monthly after this date)
Island Advantage Bursary for students who have a study period longer than 34 weeks,
the 2nd payment is sent to schools at the mid-point of study.
Feb. 20 George Coles Bursary appeals & missing information forms can be completed.
Mar. 15 Deadline for Student Loan Applications for winter semester.
May 31 Deadline for George Coles Bursary appeals & missing information forms.
Federally-funded loan administered by the National Student Loan Service Centre.
Provincially-funded loan administered by Edulinx.
Deadline for Student Loan Appeals – Six weeks prior to study period end date.
Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA)
All Student Loan Applicants must complete the federal legal document which outlines the provisions of your student loan. Students must complete the MSFAA prior to receiving their student loan funding. Students will not receive any student loan funding until a valid MSFAA is completed and processed.
