Family Ties is a counselling program within the Child and Family Services Division of the Department of Social Development and Seniors. It is a trauma informed program that provides counselling support primarily to children and youth. Family sessions and parenting psychoeducation may also be provided.

Family Ties counsellors are skilled in responding to a wide range of child, youth, and parenting issues including child/parent conflict, anxiety and depression, and general child behavioral challenges and parenting challenges.

Who is Eligible?

Children and youth up to age 18 who are involved with Child and Family Services are eligible for service.

Additional family members or caregivers, including foster parents or caregivers in the Grandparent and Alternate Care Provider Program, may also be eligible for support.
